European Commission wants to create a single platform game regulator across the European Union
Regulated Online Game Market .EU but for when?
The European Commission intends to publish a regulatory plan on playing online gambling games for all its member states, this news had already been advanced by us in 2011. The publication of the regulation plan had been scheduled for September 26, 2012, however it was postponed this week.
The commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier announced the preparation of this plan last June, prompting the opening of investigations into break European directives on restrictions of regulated markets. It must be noted that the regulated markets like the Italian, French, Spanish and Belgian do not meet those directives and as such on leaving the European level to regulate the market they will have to change their rules.
This threat has made itself felt in France, where the ARJEL changed local law to allow any player with a bank account in an EU country to be able to enroll in online classrooms domain. FR in however it also has to be changed because all players will become part of the .EU market.
The regulated market of online game aims for aa European market where all players of the european union can play freely, such as online poker players from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany , Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK (27 member states) will be able to play together in a fully regulated market !
