Octogenarians playing poker illegally in Cyprus!

This unusual situation in Cyprus dates back to 2009 (the country where gambling is illegal) where a police raid arrested 42 octogenarian women who were playing poker and bridge, all of them received last week at home notices to appear in court! Two ladies have even died by now!

After all the media attention given to this case in the press quite comical, the Attorney General of Cyprus, decided to withdraw the complaints against the ladies! At least in the end common sense prevailed up because one of the ladies with 98 years would have to ask permission to the doctor to appear in court!
